Kimarnock need to remedy travel ills

ONLY a point ahead of St Mirren and Falkirk at the bottom of the table, Kilmarnock know they are in trouble. What they do not know is how to get out of it.

Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Tynecastle meant they have still scored just four goals away from home all season. With three of their five post-split games being on the road, they may need to find a solution to that problem if they are to avoid having a 17-year stay in the top division brought to an end. And, given the financial difficulties they have faced this season, they could find themselves stuck in the First Division for some time if they do go down.

“Away from home we are so terrible,” defender Manuel Pascali admitted. “It’s not just the strikers, it’s a team problem. Every time a team scores one goal against us we are f***ed.

“We know it will be a battle till the end of the season, but we knew that before. Everything depends on us. This is a good responsibility to have for a footballer.”

“You have to think positive,” Pascali concluded. “It’s hard after a defeat like this, but you have to. There are two teams in a worse position than us.”
