Kilmarnock sign up Dubourdeau

KILMARNOCK have signed former Motherwell goalkeeper Francois Dubourdeau until the end of the year.

The 22-year-old was released by the Fir Park side at the end of last season, but has been handed another opportunity to carve out a career in Scotland.

The Frenchman was named as a substitute in Kilmarnock’s Premierleague opener against Rangers at Ibrox, as well as the past weekend’s home victory over Partick Thistle.

Dubourdeau’s deal sees him stay on at Rugby Park until 31 December.

Kilmarnock general manager David Mackinnon said: "Francois was on the bench for the matches against Rangers and Partick Thistle. He acquitted himself well in training and we decided to give him a contract until the end of the year."

But there was disappointing news for Kilmarnock as well, with the news that both Danny Invincible and Gary Locke could be sidelined for several weeks.

Both players sustained ankle ligament injuries during Saturday’s game against Partick.

Queen’s Park have signed former Dunfermline Athletic goalkeeper Brian McCue.

Celtic and Motherwell supply five teenagers each to the Scotland under-19 squad, who travel to meet Portugal on Saturday and again on Monday.

Scotland under-19 squad: Irvine, Low, Marshall, Pinkowski, Wallace (all Celtic) Barkey, Quinn, Reid, Scott, Wright (all Motherwell), Adam, Coyle, Smith (all Rangers) Diamond , Foster, Tarditi (all Aberdeen), McLeod (Hearts) Winter (Leeds).
