Kerrs rock in Tallinn but cannot claim a medal

THERE was no magical comeback in Estonia for Scots ice dance siblings John and Sinead Kerr as they failed to move into the medal rankings in the last stage of the European Figure Skating Championships.

Lying fifth in Tallinn before their final routine, the Free Dance executed to music by Los Angeles rock act Linkin Park, the duo were awarded 90.24 points, a season's best score. That gave them a total of 184.05 but still left them in fifth, 5.62 points short of a bronze medal, which would have repeated their feat from Helsinki last year.

The result will be a disappointment for the seven-time British champions and they must refocus for their tilt at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver next month.
