Kerrs named in British skating team for Estonia

SINEAD and John Kerr head up a team of 11 British skaters selected to represent Team GB at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn, Estonia later this month.

The West Lothian duo, Britain's leading dance couple, will be looking to improve on the bronze medal they won in Finland in 2008.

Nottingham's Penny Coomes and Nicholas Buckland will be aiming to build on the silver medal won at the recent British Ice Figure Skating Championships in Sheffield. Pairs selected are Stacey Kemp from Preston and David King from Carlisle and Erica Risseeuw and Robert Paxton, representing the Isle of Wight.

Northern Ireland's Jenna McCorkell, who skates in Coventry, Karly Robinson, from Dundee, and Newcastle-born Matt Parr, who now skates in Dundee, make up the GB squad selected by the National Ice Skating Association (NISA).

The Europeans take place between 19-24 January on the Saku Suurhall rink and are the last major championships before the 2010 Winter Olympics, which begin in Vancouver on 12 February.
