Kenny Miller opts for lucrative transfer to Bursaspor

KENNY Miller is poised to complete a move to Bursaspor today as the Turkish champions close in on agreeing a fee for the striker with Rangers. The player's agent was in Bursa at the weekend and is understood to have negotiated a lucrative two-and-a-half year contract for Miller worth around £50,000 a week.

The 31-year-old is due to travel to Turkey today to conclude the transfer, subject to passing a medical and in the event of the clubs reaching accord on a price for the player whose contract at Ibrox is due to expire at the end of this season. Rangers are hoping to receive between 500,000 and 600,000 for Miller. Miller was left out of Rangers' SPL fixture against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Ibrox last night as a conclusion to the saga surrounding his future comes closer.

Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist, speaking before last night's match, confirmed that club chief executive Martin Bain had been in discussions with Bursaspor. "I don't think they are a million miles away from a deal," said McCoist. "A deal has not been done, but negotiations are far down the line."

A Bursaspor spokesman said: "Kenny Miller will fly here tomorrow. We hope everything will be sorted out and he will become our player."
