Kenny Anderson bout hit by call-off

EDINBURGH super-middleweight Kenny Anderson's British title eliminator with Paul David, which had been scheduled to take place at the St Andrew's Sporting Club in Glasgow this evening, was called-off yesterday at just 24-hours notice.

David, from Northampton, was forced to withdraw after suffering a bout of gastroenteritis, according to promoter Tommy Gilmour. Given the extremely late nature of the postponement it was impossible for Gilmour to find a suitable replacement.

Anderson has been frustrated by a lack of regular fights, late postponements, injury and illness which has hampered his progress to championship level.

Gilmour, who still plans to feature three contests, said: "It is a blow but we will still put on an exciting show, with Ryan Brawley's bout against Poland's Arek Malek promoted to the top of the bill."
