Kempsell's squash bid

Waverley's Dougie Kempsell, the Scottish under-17 champion, is one of the top home hopes facing a world-class field at the Scottish Junior Open squash Championships today at Heriot-Watt University at Riccarton.

The annual event has attracted players from Australia, America, Europe and Asia. The championships are a double-header with next week's British Junior Open in Sheffield.

Kirsty Lobban (Inverness) defends the girls' under-15 title with Mhairi Charlton (Aberdeen) among the leading under-19 challengers.
