Judo: Scots suffer in Istanbul

MATT PURSSEY was the only Edinburgh player to win a bout on a wretched weekend at the European Judo Championships in Istanbul.

Purssey beat Moldova's Ivan Remarenco in the opening round of the 90kg class before losing to Italy's Lorenzo Bagnoli. However, five other Scots failed at the first hurdle.
