Judo: No Swede success for Mullen in Russia

Edinburgh’s Jodie Mullen came crashing back to earth after suffering an early exit at the European Under-23 Judo Championships in Tyumen, Russia.

The 20-year-old enjoyed one of the best results of her career when claiming a bronze medal in the 63kg class at last week’s European Cup in Malaga.

But her challenge was prematurely ended in Russia when she lost to Sweden’s Mia Hermansson after being given a bye through to round two.
