Judo: Britain draw a blank in European medal quest

Britain's fighters endured a difficult second day at the European Championships in Turkey, where the team failed to make any medal fights.

Scotland's Euan Burton, ranked No 4 in the world at under-81kgs half middleweight, could not get past Jaromir Musil of the Czech Republic in his opening bout. Bath's Tom Reed lost to Russian Sirazhudin Magomedov.

Olympian Sarah Clark, from Edinburgh, and Harlow's Faith Pitman both also lost their opening-round fights in the under-63kg, as did Gemma Gibbons and Wokingham youngster Megan Fletcher in the middleweights.
