Jose Mourinho remains unclear over future

JOSE Mourinho celebrated a second straight Serie A title with Inter Milan yesterday, but said he is unsure about where he will coach next season.

Mourinho's side held on for a 1-0 win at already relegated Siena which saw Inter finish two points clear of Roma, who won 2-0 at Parma.

Real Madrid are linked with Mourinho and the Portuguese tactician will not make up his mind about his future until he has coached Inter in Saturday's Champions League final against Bayern Munich in Madrid.

Mourinho said: "At this point, I am not thinking of myself, my only thoughts are Inter and my players.

"After the final in Madrid, there will be time for me to be a little bit selfish for one, two or three days and I will think what makes me happier from a professional standpoint.

"But right now, I can say with 100 per cent certainty that it's not true that I have one foot and a half at Real or that I am already the Real coach. I am very far away from being Real coach."

Mourinho, who is under contract with Inter until June 2012, admitted he has not felt comfortable in Serie A.

"Several times this season, I have thought that this was not my natural habitat," he said. "That this was not the country to work in and be happy."

Yesterday's match was perhaps a little more nerve-wracking than expected and it took a cool 57th-minute finish from Argentina striker Diego Milito his 23rd of the season – after great work from compatriot and captain Javier Zanetti to settle things.

Siena were not without chances of their own and also saw claims for a first-half penalty turned down when the ball brushed Thiago Motta's arm.

Until then Roma, who were already two goals up through Mirko Vucinic and Daniele De Rossi could still dream of a dramatic final-day turnaround.

Mourinho admitted he would have preferred a more relaxing end to the season.

"It has been the most difficult scudetto, to win the league title in the last game in the last minute," he said.

"In the past, I have won at home, in a hotel, watching TV, with four or five games to go until the end, but this experience is new and I do not want to repeat it.

"But the best team has won the title, although maybe it could have been easier."

Looking ahead to next Saturday's showdown with Bayern he said: "To have won the scudetto and the Coppa Italia is always fantastic, but it is only the start of a historic week."

It was also a day of celebration for Sampdoria after Giampaolo Pazzini's second-half goal secured a 1-0 home win over Napoli and the fourth and final Champions League spot.
