Jorgensen makes the early running

PRAGUE MASTERS: Malene Jorgensen leads after the first round in the Czech Republic, the Dane shooting a six-under-par 66. Local player Klara Spilkova lies second after the rookie professional shot 67 at the Albatross Golf Resort on the outskirts of Prague.

Jorgensen had coach Thomas Larsson, the brother of her boyfriend Lars, on the bag and that made a big difference as she seeks her first win on the Ladies European Tour. Jorgensen said: “I have struggled with my driver and I hit it really good today. I have my coach with me this week and he’s really nice.”

A shot further back on 68 were Caroline Masson, of Germany, England’s Felicity Johnson, Sophie Giquel-Bettan, of France, Australian Nikki Garrett and Finland’s Kaisa Ruuttila.

Vikki Laing and Kylie Walker were the leading Scots after 69s.
