Johnstone does trick at Livi United

Livingston UNITED have proved the surprise package in the South League this season.

Currently sitting in second spot in the table after years propping it up, United have emerged as a force to be reckoned with under manager Andy Johnstone.

Johnstone had his work cut out when he took over last December with a lack of players and money. However, he knew players who would do a job for him and set about his revolution. Gradually, after a lot of hard work, Livingston are seeing the rewards.

Johnstone said: "There's no magic formula but the harder you work, the better you get. The players I brought here are doing a great job. They and the committee have bought into the hard work ethic and it's paying off. Our target this season is the top half of the table."

The late Livingston committee man Geordie Dryburgh would have been one happy man to see his side challenging for top spot, a challenge which continues tomorrow at West Calder.

Elsewhere, Blackburn entertain Fauldhouse and Haddington play Edinburgh. Dunbar are at Stoneyburn, with Tranent and Pumpherston meeting.
