Jockey Lee Newman eyes grey day

HADDINGTON jockey Lee Newman was among the winners at Hamilton yesterday when he scored on 4-1 shot Lesley's Choice, and he continues his successful association with Linda Perratt's Silver Rime in Musselburgh's feature event today, the £10,000 East Lothian Council 7f Handicap.

Silver Rime has a live chance of giving Newman another success, but the grey will be hard pressed to hold off the challenge of Gap Princess, who represents the in-form combination of Geoff Harker and Silvestre De Sousa. Gap Princess ran out a ready winner at Ripon earlier in the month and will take all the beating.

Middleham trainer Jedd O'Keefe has his horses back on song and his course and distance winner Secret Venue is fancied to continue the stable's purple patch in the 5f Scottish Racing Your Better Bet Handicap.
