Jeff looking for reaction from Hearts players

HEARTS boss Jim Jefferies admitted today that he's looking for a reaction from his side this weekend following disappointing results against Celtic and Dundee United.

While Jefferies has been relatively satisfied with aspects of his side's performances in both of those matches, he is looking for them to bounce back with victory in Inverness on Saturday.

The Tynecastle side travel north for the lunchtime kick-off against Terry Butcher's men and Jefferies conceded that the Jambos must look to bring all three points back down the road with them.

He feels that playing Inverness on their home patch could even work in Hearts' favour and said: "Definitely, especially after Dundee United getting that late equaliser and then going to Parkhead after that.

"It's about how we bounce back. It's a tough fixture, they've lost a couple of games up there to Celtic and Hamilton.

"They are a tough side, although I think they're maybe better equipped to play you away from home because they are one of those sides who sit in and hit you on the break, I think they did that at Easter Road.

"The emphasis is on them to come out and try to win when they're at home, so that might suit us better."

Meanwhile Jefferies praised the contribution of goalkeeper, Marian Kello, not only in last weekend's game against Celtic at Parkhead, but in the SPL campaign as a whole so far.

Acknowledging the fact that both Jamie MacDonald and Janos Balogh can consider themselves unfortunate to be out of the side, he continued: "The one thing about this club is that we have got three cracking goalkeepers and one or two good youngsters as well.

"Jamie MacDonald and Janos Balogh have been very unfortunate but Marian has done extremely well since we have come in and we, at this moment in time, recognise him as being good enough to retain the jersey.

"He's under pressure all of the time, he has to play well because the other two goalkeepers are chasing him, but he has been excellent. He was outstanding against Celtic.

"With the shortage in defence, Celtic got through a few times one on one and the big man was terrific. We could maybe have lost one or two more goals."
