It's Paul to play for as new boss gets ready to lead Whitehill

WHITEHILL WELFARE manager Paul Cavanagh cannot wait for tomorrow's opening Central Taxis Premier Division game against Preston Athletic at the Pennypit.

This will be Cavanagh's first season in charge of the Rosewell club and, after an intense pre-season schedule, he insisted: "Preparations have gone well and I could not be happier. Whitehill were runners-up in the league last season but a long way behind the winners, Spartans. Our fixture backlog because of the weather did not help us but some of the performances were certainly not up to the standard required. Whitehill Welfare want to be up there seriously challenging for the title and other cup competitions." Cavanagh has brought in seven new signings and has also enlisted Stuart 'Snowy' McKean as his assistant.

Whitehill will be without Daryl Devlin and Kevin Morrison for tomorrow's match at the Pennypit, (kick-off 2.30pm).
