Injury woe for Hibs' Galbraith

Danny Galbraith has become Hibs' latest injury worry after the winger picked up a knee knock in a closed-doors match againt Hamilton.

While manager John Hughes has his fingers crossed the 20-year-old will be fit for Saturday's SPL clash with St Johnstone, Galbraith faces further assessment by the club's medical staff to determine the full extent of his injury.

The former Manchester United youngster spent yesterday receiving treatment but Hughes believes he'll receive a clearer picture today. He said: "We are hoping it isn't too serious. He took a wee knock and a twist and we got him off right away which will hopefully have helped."

Although Galbraith has spent the vast majority of matches on the bench, Hughes revealed he's coming ever closer to claiming a starting place.

He said: "At the moment Danny has been something of an 'impact' player, he gives you that energy and speed. He's a fantastic professional and his time will come, he's been working towards a regular starting place and hopefully this won't set him back."

While Galbraith joins Ian Murray, Merouane Zemmama and Darryl Duffy on the treatment table, Colin Nish and Sol Bamba, who both missed the trip to Celtic Park with ankle and groin injuries respectively, have returned to training, putting themselves in contention for Saturday's match at McDiarmid Park.

But Hughes warned the pair they may not walk straight back into the side despite Hibs going down 2-1 to Neil Lennon's side in their absence. He said: "I have a wee selection problem because the boys that came in last week did exceptionally well. We'll have to sit down and pick a team accordingly but I've seen St Johnstone play twice and it will be a very difficult match, they are a big, physical team, hard-working and organised.

"However, in the SPL every team is capable of beating each other and we are capable of going there and getting the three points."
