Imogen Bankier in action at Yonex German Open

SCOTLAND’S Imogen Bankier is in action today at the Yonex German Open. The 2011 world mixed doubles silver medallist will team up with Bulgaria’s Petya Nedelcheva in the women’s doubles in Mulheim.

The pair face a tough start when they take on China’s Zhao Yunlei and Cheng Shu in the first round of qualifying.

Kirsty Gilmour faces Czech No 1 Kristina Gavnholt in the women’s singles and also tackles the women’s doubles with Jillie Cooper.

Cooper and mixed doubles partner Robert Blair face Danny Banda Chrisnanta and Yu Yan Vanessa Neo of Singapore. In the men’s doubles Paul Van Rietvelde and England’s Marcus Ellis play Malaysia’s Teik Chai Gan and Ong Soon Hock while Blair and Malaysian Tan Bin Shen take on Peter Kaesbauer and Josche Zurwonne.
