‘I’m ready to win a major’, says Casey

WORLD No6 Paul Casey believes he is ready to win a major and break a 14-year English drought.

Casey, 32, has returned to Humble, Texas, to defend his Shell Houston Open title, the event he won at Redstone Golf Club 12 months ago to give him his maiden victory on the USPGA Tour.

With the Masters looming next week, Casey feels he can become the first Englishman to win a major since Nick Faldo donned the green jacket at Augusta National in 1996.

“I’m older, greyer and I feel like the next eight, ten years, that’s my big opportunity,” Casey said. “I feel ready.”
