Illaunglass can polish off rivals

Illaunglass can continue her progression with victory in the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket.

Noseda is of the opinion the ground was too soft that day and, with further improvement from that likely on this quicker surface, she should be right in the mix.

Sahpresa enjoys her visits to Newmarket and carries the nap to strike in a less-than-vintage renewal of the Etihad Airways Falmouth Stakes.

Rod Collet's filly has twice lifted Group One contests over on the Rowley Mile, and promises to be better than ever this year judged by the manner in which she dismissed the smart Moonlight Cloud on her reappearance at Longchamp. Ground conditions come alike to her and a line can be put through most of the domestic opposition as either not being good enough or just generally disappointing, making fellow French filly Lily Of The Valley the danger.

A useful juvenile and not far off Wootton Bassett in a couple of starts at Doncaster, he could easily make up into a decent sprinter this term on what he has shown so far.

The Iffraaj gelding is due a bit of luck as he has been hampered on both his starts, most notably last time out at York where he would have been closer than fourth with a clear passage.

Dropped 1lb for that and almost certain to relish the Newmarket hill, he has sound claims, particularly with Frankie Dettori renewing what has been a decent association.

William Haggas is another trainer in top gear and his Firebeam stands out at York in the Whixley Stakes.
