Hunter faces biggest test yet in Wales

Teenage stand-off Gregor Hunter faces the biggest challenge of his fledgling pro career this evening when Edinburgh take on Neath Swansea Ospreys away from home (6:30pm).

The 19-year-old, who learnt his trade at Gala, will start in the pivotal position in the RaboDirect PRO12 match, with Phil Godman suffering from injury.

And it will give him a great chance to show what he can do having had an encouraging pre-season.

Elsewhere in the backline Tom Brown has recovered from a dead leg and starts at full-back, while James King did well for Melrose against Currie last week and is in the centre.

Esteban Lozada starts in the second-row with new prop Shaun Knight on the bench after he signed a six-week loan deal at the club from Gloucester.

Edinburgh head coach Michael Bradley said: “As a team we have acknowledged that our performance over the 80 minutes against Cardiff was not good enough.

“Ospreys are coming off a very good win over a strong Leinster side so they’ll be very confident. They are a side that like to play the ball and keep the pace of the game up, which we need to counter, but that suits us as well.”

Edinburgh squad: T Brown; S Webster, M Scott, J King, T Visser; G Hunter, G Laidlaw; K Traynor, S Lawrie, L Niven, G Gilchrist, E Lozada, S Cox, D Denton, R Grant. Subs: A Kelly, R Hislop, S Knight, S Turnbull, H Watson, C Leck, J Thompson, L Jones.
