Hull sinking upsets Boateng

HULL midfielder George Boateng admitted the late equaliser which confirmed Hull's relegation from the Barclays Premier League was "so hard to take."

The 34-year-old watched as Steve Gohouri's injury-time goal earned Wigan a 2-2 draw at the DW Stadium, which confirmed Hull's drop out of English football's top flight after two seasons.

And Boateng admitted: "It's been coming since Sunderland last weekend, but we tried to take it to the last game of the season and what makes it disappointing is conceding in injury-time again – the equaliser is so hard to take.

"Everyone at the club has made mistakes, including myself – but on a personal level I think we've enjoyed our time under new manager Iain Dowie.

"When he came in he bought calmness to the place, everybody felt we could have some belief."
