How the quarter-finals were won in the Paul Lawrie Match Play

Oliver Fisher (Eng) bt Maximillian Kieffer (Ger) 3&1

Three up after four, the Englishman was hauled back to all square after 10 holes before regaining the upper hand with back-to-back birdies at the 13th and 14th then also winning the 15th with a par.

Anthony Wall (Eng) bt Haydn Porteous (SA) two holes

The Englishman lost the first to a birdie before getting his nose in front after six holes and was two up with five to play. He then lost the 14th and 15th with pars before finishing birdie-eagle to clinch victory.

Alex Noren (Swe) bt Johan Carlsson (Swe)

Scottish Open champion Noren burst out of the blocks, opening with five birdies then chipping in for an eagle-3 at the sixth. Carlsson battled bravely but was always fighting a losing battle after that start from his compatriot.

James Morrison (Eng) bt Alejandro Canizares (Sp)

The Englishman was down until the sixth before gaining the ascendancy by winning three holes in a row from the 12th, two of them with birdies.
