Horse racing: Trade Commissioner ready to make mark in Group Three

Warren Place juveniles are almost guaranteed to improve from their first runs which is really encouraging and this son of Danehill Dancer holds the right sort of big-race  engagements.

Moon Trip looks the one for Mark Johnston in the Jackson’s Yorkshire Champion Bread Handicap at Beverley. The prolific Middleham handler has won the last two runnings of the two-mile affair and has another ideal candidate in this three-year-old, who is a course and distance winner.

Just four runners have been declared, but all have claims of varying sorts and while Darren Egan did little wrong when just touched off at Newmarket, there can be no doubting Silvestre de Sousa taking over is a definite plus.

Waspy is fancied to land the hat-trick in the 32RedBingo.com Handicap at Chepstow. Back-to-back wins at Bath have been achieved with something in hand under  Richard Hughes, on the latest  occasion defying a 4lb rise.

She has a 6lb penalty to overcome for that, but this is just modest company and her style of racing suggests the try at ten furlongs might bring about further improvement.

Former crack Flat handicapper Forgotten Voice could not have been more impressive on his jumping debut and should not be troubled in taking the next step on the ladder in the Orchard Hill Novices’ Hurdle at Stratford.

Not a terrible amount to get  excited about at Fontwell, but Le Grand Chene only narrowly failed to carry a penalty to success last month and looks capable off a similar mark in the ABP Port of Southampton  Novices’ Handicap Chase.
