Horse Racing: Poyle Meg may run in France if she does business

POYLE MEG can book her ticket to France by following up last month's course-and-distance success at Kempton tomorrow.

Trainer Ralph Beckett is eyeing a Listed contest at Cagnes sur Mer for the four-year-old filly, who has been a model of consistency.

She has only been out of the first four once in 14 career starts and that was when she was seventh of 28 in a valuable sales race at Ascot as a two-year-old.

Raised only 1lb for her latest victory when she had several of these rivals in her wake, Poyle Meg does not look harshly-treated in the digibet.com Handicap and, if anything, she is still on the upgrade.

Fathsta ended a 19-month losing streak when landing a six-furlong handicap here four weeks ago. David Simcock's sprinter can repeat the trick in the kempton.co.uk Handicap over the same six furlongs.

Fromsong is the oldest horse on duty at the Sunbury track but the 12-year-old can show he is no back number by taking the Bistro At The Panoramic Bar & Restaurant Handicap. Dean Ivory's veteran defeated Lithaam by half-a-length at Lingfield last month and can confirm the form with his old adversary. Soccerjackpot can scoop the pool in the digibet Casino Claiming Stakes. Clive Cox's six-year-old is the highest-rated horse in the field and can take advantage of a drop in class to register his first success since last March which came over this course.

Fly By Nelly can appreciate a step up in trip to record her first success in the Betdaq Poker Handicap at Lingfield. Hughie Morrison's filly was putting in her best work at the finish when fifth to Wunder Strike over a mile on this track last week.

Obviously none the worse for that, she is being turned out again quickly and given the chance to prove herself over an extra two furlongs.

Victory Ide Say was deemed unlucky when third on his debut and can put that right by opening his account in the Betdaq The Betting Exchange Maiden Stakes. The gelding, owned and trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam, was slowly away and had to be switched when denied a clear run, yet he was only beaten a length and a half by the odds-on winner Passion Overflow.

He will have learnt plenty from that experience and can waste no more time in getting on the scoresheet.
