Horn on a high as Hibs XI make visit

Vale OF LEITHEN welcome a Hibs XI to Victoria Park, Innerleithen tonight (kick-off 7.00pm), fresh from their 2-0 win against Junior side Kirriemuir Thistle at the weekend.

Hibs are regular pre-season visitors to Vale of Leithen and earlier this summer did some training at the prim ground situated in a wonderful setting in the Scottish Borders.

Robbie Horn, the former Hearts player who is now manager of Vale, is delighted to have such a high-profile club as Hibs as visitors.

"The prestige our club gains from such a match is fantastic and it is a great opportunity for all of us - committee, management, players and supporters - to be involved in a game like this. What we want to do is to give a good account of ourselves."

Hibs Under-19 coach, James McDonaugh, will have Ross Campbell - an unused substitute for the Hibs first team in their 1-0 win against Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday - in his squad.

Danny Handling and David Gold, who both played for Hibs in their pre-season friendly at Blackpool last week, are likely to play.

Preston Athletic are also in action tonight when they host Spartans at the Pennypit (7.30).
