Hockey: Women crash 8-0 to world's best team

Scotland senior women lost the second game 8-0 against world No 1 side Holland in Rotterdam on Friday night.

The Scots were placed under considerable pressure throughout and possession was turned over at regular intervals creating many of the Dutch opportunities.

Holland also possess the lethal penalty corner drag flick specialist Maartje Paumen and this was a source of several of the goals conceded.

Scotland did create chances themselves and Holly Cram, Ali Bell, Sam Judge and Catriona Forrest all had shots either saved or blocked. The team also showed a high level of fitness and even under intense pressure displayed a good spirit, which augers well for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
