Hockey: Win over Western can see Inverleith take third

Inverleith could leapfrog Greaves Clydesdale into third place in the Subway National League if they can see off Western Wildcats at Peffermill and the Glasgow side fall to leaders Glynhill Kelburne.

Grange are at home to a Menzieshill side who seem to be struggling for a viable squad and have yet to win a point since the restart after the winter shutdown.

In the remaining fixture Clydesdale are at home to Kelburne who have already won the championship.

In the relegation pool certain issues are already resolved. Stepps and Watsonians are consigned to second division hockey next season, while Dundee Wanderers and Edinburgh University are safe. The outstanding issue for Aberdeen Asset Management and WebEnergy Hillhead is to avoid the play-off spot against Cala Edinburgh. Hillhead have finished their programme with 18 points and Aberdeen can equal that total, but only if they see off Edinburgh University and Watsonians this weekend.
