Hockey: Uni go into derby unbeaten

EDINBURGH UNIVERSITY are in pole position in Division 1B of Scottish hockey's elite league with six points from two games.

The 5-1 humbling of Stepps and a 3-2 victory over Hillhead last Saturday earned the students maximum points.

Captain Will Butler, who is currently injured, said: "We've started well. The guys came up through the play-off at the end of last season and we don't want to go through that experience again so our target is to push for the top position in Division 1B so we are safe."
