Hockey: 'Sonians need to climb Stepps

The Tipperlin side have slipped to the bottom of the table following a remarkable resurgence by Glasgow-based Stepps.

'Sonians have only won one of their six games since the league split and are now two points behind Stepps, who entertain Hillhead tomorrow, although the Edinburgh side have two games in hand.

CALA Edinburgh lead Division Two and could book a promotion play-off place if they dispose of struggling city rivals Waverley Inveresk Trinity at Bangholm.

Waverley were deducted nine points earlier in the season for disciplinary issues and CALA are hopeful of getting the three points they need to start celebrating.
