Hockey: Scots surge into semis

Scotland's under-21 women stormed into the semi-final of the European Nations Championships at Stirling by whipping Portugal 7-0.

Doubles Morag McLellan and Fiona Bruce with counters from Kerry Hall, Fiona Plain and Heather Stafford sealed the points. The Scots were given a lesson in clinical finishing in the final pool match, losing 5-1 against Poland, but both sides had already qualified for the semis, Scotland now take on Belarus while Poland play the Czech Republic.
