Hockey: Scotland 'must develop consistency'

Scotland head coach Russell Garcia has emphasised to his Commonwealth Games squad the importance of delivering a consistent level of performance if his charges are to make an impact in Delhi.

The INSEP Hockey Challenge in Paris has partly achieved this target, victories over France (5-4) and Poland (2-1) encouraging signs, especially as it is eight years since the Scots recorded a win over the Poles.

Certainly the Scots lost 3-1 to Malaysia, but Garcia would argue that if his side are to break their duck against the talented Asians, Delhi is the occasion as the two sides are in the same pool.
