Hockey: Point is lost on umpires

FOURTEEN Scottish hockey teams have had a point deducted for failing to provide an umpire.

The clubs can appeal but the deduction is a massive blow to Edinburgh University, who now prop up Division One with no points from four games.

And CALA Edinburgh, who have won all eight of their games, only enjoy a one-point lead over near neighbours Watsonians in the race for the Division Two title.
