Hockey: Never-say-die Grange battle back for a draw

Grange fought back from a three-goal deficit in the Subway National Hockey League against Western Wildcats at Auchenhowie. Wildcats were flying thanks to goals from Scott McCartney, Ian Moodie and Douglas Simpson, but the Edinburgh side replied in the second half though Phil Sully and two from Rob Barr.

At Peffermill Greaves Clydesdale continued their impressive start to the season with a comfortable 3-1 win over Inverleith to retain top spot in the league.

VWS Dundee Wanderers recovered from last week's mauling at the hands of Greaves Clydesdale to record a fine 6-2 home win at Riverside over Edinburgh University and AMN Hillhead defeated Aberdeen Asset Management 5-1.

In the Women's first division Kelburne maintained their unbeaten start with a comprehensive 7-1 win over Edinburgh University at Peffermill. Meanwhile CALA Edinburgh were 2-0 winners against Grange EL .
