Hockey: Moodie's Uni win again to extend streak to three

OLYMPIAN Graham Moodie guided Edinburgh University Hockey Club to a 4-1 victory over city Division One rivals Watsonians to extend their winning run since the winter break to three games, writes NIGEL DUNCAN.

Neil Fulton scored a treble and Stuart Inglis a single after John Dunlop opened the scoring for Watsonians.

Also in Division One Dundee Wanderers beat Stepps 3-1 while Aberdeen lost 2-1 to Hillhead. In Division Two, CALA Edinburgh started the second half of the season with a comfortable away win at St Andrews University on Saturday. The Edinburgh club dominated and Scott Sutherland and David Guy both scored two goals.

Yesterday, however, schoolboy goalkeeper John Walker had a baptism of fire on his debut as CALA Edinburgh crashed out of the Scottish Cup, beaten 10-2 by Kelburne. But the 15-year-old schoolboy loved the experience of playing against Scotland's top team.

And today the talented stopper, who attends Lasswade High, said: "I was nervous and it was so much quicker than I'm used to in the seconds, but I'd love another chance."
