Hockey: Menzieshill and Dundee are crowned champions

HOCKEY: Menzieshill and VWS Dundee Wanderers were crowned champions as the Subway National Indoor League season came to an exciting conclusion at the Bell's Sports Centre in Perth yesterday.

The game of the day and the one which decided the destination of the title was the clash between Inverleith and Menzieshill, which ended 3-3 when Kerr Thomson stepped up to take a penalty corner right at the death and struck home the goal that took the title back to Dundee for an impressive seventh year in a row.

In the women's game, VWS Dundee Wanderers secured the Subway National Indoor League Title for the first time when they thrashed Grove A 8-1, six from Vikki Bunce, to start the celebrations.
