INVERLEITH push off the second-half of their campaign to land the Scottish Division One indoor hockey title tomorrow in Perth against strugglers Clydesdale before facing Western.

Inverleith top the table by a point from champions Grove Menzieshill and Stuart Neave, their coach, while determined to cut out mistakes which cost them dear in the Richard Docherty Memorial Tournament at Napier University last weekend, believes a busy recent schedule has given them a boost. “The guys have played competitive hockey over the Festive period and we hope this stands us in good stead now.”

Clydesdale have won two and lost five of their seven games and are seventh in the league of eight with a negative goal difference of 36.

Western are sixth with three wins and four defeats and have a goal difference of minus six while Inverleith are plus 38.

Meanwhile, fourth-placed Grange, who were the surprise packets in the Richard Docherty Memorial, also have a double-header.

They play bottom club Harris, who are pointless after seven games and have a goal difference of minus 49, and third-placed Kelburne who have won four and lost three of their seven starts.
