Hockey: Inverleith must cope with favourites tag

HOCKEY: Inverleith take on WebEnergy Hillhead in an all-First Division clash in the Arthur McKay Scottish Cup at Peffermill this weekend.

Inverleith, currently fourth in the Subway National League, start firm favourites having won the league encounter 4-1. The carrot for the winner is a quarter-final tie against Third Division side Granite City Wanderers.

The only fixture in the relegation pool brings together Edinburgh University and Stepps who have come up from the Second Division.

In the women's First Division, the encounter between CALA Edinburgh and Porcelanosa Kelburne could be a close affair. A win for CALA could take them above Giffnock and on the same points total as Kelburne.

In the other matches, leaders Grove play Giffnock while Milne Craig Western are at home to VWS Dundee Wanderers.
