Hockey: Half-time pep talks sees Scotland rally

Scotland senior women enjoyed another good win by the same scoreline (3-1) against Belgium in the second game of the three-match series in Auderghem.

Midway through the half, a strike by Emily Maguire from a corner was initially parried but the rebound was bundled home by Baxter to give Scotland a well merited lead.

With half-time approaching, and against the run of play, the Belgians equalised when an initial shot from the edge of the circle was blocked but the rebound was forced home.

Coach Shepherd appeared to have some strong words with his team at the interval and he was rewarded with an immediate response.

First Bell had an effort blocked but almost immediately afterwards a Sam Judge strike was deflected into the net to restore the visitor's lead. Then, minutes later, Vikki Bunce recovered a short corner move, which had broken down, to send a fierce drive into the keeper's right hand corner.
