Hockey: Champs must make do

CHAMPIONS CALA Edinburgh aim to finish the hockey season on a high by winning tomorrow's derby clash with Watsonians (3.30pm) despite only having a patchwork squad, writes

Corey Hastings, Sean Hadfield and David Patterson are on Scotland under-18 duty while several others are injured. Coach Neil Allan wanted the game at Meggetland put off but Scottish Hockey refused.

Meanwhile, ninth-placed Waverley Inveresk Trinity entertain Uddingston (Bangholm), who are a place above them, in a crunch clash.

The Edinburgh club beat tenth-placed St Andrews University 3-2 in midweek, their sixth win of the season and aim to underline that with another home success.
