Hockey: Capital clubs to the fore in selection test

Two Edinburgh clubs provide eight of the 19 players in the Scotland's under-21 squad for a festive tournament at Dundee, as the pressure increases for selection for the EuroHockey Junior Nations Indoor Championships in Prague from January 14 to 16.

Coach Russell Garcia has picked five from Menzieshill plus four each from Inverleith and CALA Edinburgh for the tournament hosted by Menzieshill on December 29 and 30. The Scots will face hosts Menzieshill, the American Eagles and Team USA.

Scotland's Under-21 women will also compete as they prepare for their European tournament at Stirling from January 21 to 23. Their opposition will come from Dundee Wanderers, Menzieshill and Western.
