Hockey: Brodie ready for Celtic Cup bid

AMY BRODIE is one of the rising stars of Scottish women's hockey and she has a real chance to impress when she earns her first senior cap this week.

The highly-talented CALA Edinburgh player is included in an experienced squad for the Celtic Cup which starts on Friday in Nice.

Shepherd jets to France on Thursday with the squad and they square up to Ireland in a friendly hours after touching down in Nice. The competitive matches are against France on 6 March and Ireland on 7 March.

The tournament is being used as a springboard for the World Cup qualifiers in Santiago, Chile, from 24 April to 2 May when Scotland face Australia, Ireland, Chile, Malaysia and Trinidad & Tobago.
