Hockey: Big freeze irks McCurry

INVERLEITH playcaller Steve McCurry today called for a revamp of the hockey fixture schedule after the whole weekend card was frozen out.

McCurry said: “The weather has been the same now for the past few years, cold in December. “Teams like us now have a fixture backlog and it will be difficult to find dates. “Other clubs may have more fixtures to catch up on and scheduling games in December is really not on.”
