Hitchcott and Channon score 2,015-1 treble

Jockey Sam Hitchcott and trainer Mick Channon enjoyed a dream afternoon as they successfully plundered Beverley's prize pot by recording a whopping 2,015-1 treble.

The jewel in the crown was undoubtedly the Yorkshire track's premier race of the year, the Totesport.com Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes, which fell to Mister Hughie at 7-1. Disappointing in the Nunthorpe last time, the three-year-old looked all dressed up with nowhere to go two furlongs out, but the gaps finally appeared for Channon's charge who responded to post a short-head and the same victory over Prohibit and Captain Dunne. A relieved Hitchcott commented: "He has done it nicely and we would have won by plenty had the gaps appeared earlier. He is a very talented horse with stacks of ability that has been showing good form at home."

Kalleidoscope had got the ball rolling by producing a game performance to land the opening European Breeders' Fund Speciosa Maiden Fillies' Stakes.

Hitchcott's 20-1 mount made all, showing good early pace and battling on well up the hill to hold off fast-finishing The Shrew by a neck.

Aattash (11-1) produced another cracking front-running display in the Totesport.com Home Of Pool Betting Handicap. Hitchcott gave the three-year-old a peach of a ride and had the remainder struggling from the two-furlong pole, before showing a good turn of foot for a length victory over Bonfire Knight.
