Hibs: Your Views

Scott Bruce, Newhaven: "Remember the last week in January in 2010 as the week that Yogi's Hibs team announced their intentions to the rest of Scottish football, as what happens during this week showed we have the tools to challenge at least for a second spot in the SPL this season and hopefully build a platform for seasons to come.

"Saturday was extraordinary as the performance wasn't that good but the determination pouring out of all the players in a green jersey was very visible.

"The afternoon started with a blooper of massive proportions. Our big defender and his size 12 boot diverted easily a keeper's ball into his own net, but full marks to Bamba as he rose from this and put in a fine display at the back with Chris Hogg.

"We got back level after some near things and thank goodness for a goal by Liam Miller, number 33 in the 33rd minute to get us back in the game.

"Second half was all Hibs and, to be fair, they tried very hard to make things happen. Despite the best efforts nothing really came off, but the determination came through in the last few seconds as Benji fed the ball to Ian Murray and his cross was diverted into the net by Ross.

"Man of the match was David Wotherspoon. He played the wing expertly and reminds me of a certain Mr John Brownlie, which is a tough tag to follow but I believe this young player will rise to be a great star.

"The referee wasn't helped by a poor display by the east stand linesman.

"Three wins in a week and the Cup tie next week. Fingers crossed we come through and keep the happy days rolling along."

Paul Addison, Goldenacre: "I was expecting a free-flowing game and a load of goals for Hibs as I thought we would swamp the Saints. The script was ripped up as Sol Bamba stuck one past Graeme Smith in the early part of the game, we miss-passed the ball all through the game and only got back level because we have a brilliant midfield player called Liam Miller. We continued to rely on Liam all through the game and heaven help us if he gets injured.

"The second half was a procession towards the Saints goal and only a great save kept them level.

"There weren't any real scares up the other end and although we had the vast majority of the possession, we didn't seem to have a clue how to get behind their defence. It was only when we changed our tactics that we got in behind the defence, the only time we achieved this, as Benji played in Ian Murray in the last minute. It was the ideal time to get a winner, albeit from a lucky deflection.

"Three points collected and we move on to the cup game. I hope Hughes gets his players rested after their profitable but extremely taxing week to make sure we progress in the cup.

"We were lucky to win and I hope the St Mirren players are not too down and they can raise their game for their midweek cup game. Good luck to them."
