"I would have had Nish to give us some height on for Rankin. Rankin has been there for a few seasons in midfield but he isn't making a challenge. We were taken to the cleaners – we have no players who can compete in the air.
"No passes were coming forward to give our strikers a chance. Zemamma was playing far too deep – in his own half at times – instead of coming forward, but our persistence in playing high balls to him was a waste of time anyway. Just about every single ball was a high ball – which made it so easy for them with Duberry in defence. Nonetheless, where a Hibs player didn't win a header, he just wouldn't challenge for a second chance– there was no desire to get the ball back.

I would have Wotherspoon in on Saturday, and maybe Gow depending on his match fitness, in place of Rankin. Perhaps we should pair Gow in the midfield with Miller – hopefully he can run with the ball and will add a bit more of a physical dimension.
"Overall, a very, very disappointing evening. We just kept going with the long punt up the park and every player was brushed off the ball so easily. Nobody seemed to want the ball and we need someone with some authority in midfield – a Matthias Jack-type figure – to make the difference."
Peter Brown, Lochend: "I can't understand what Hughes sees that we can't see and he is welcome to give me a phone and try and explain this to me.
"Anyone can see we don't have a midfield so you would think Hughes would put players in the midfield. How hard can it be? I can't believe Rankin lost the ball in the box to lead to a goal – he ran into the box to try and get it to his left foot, lost possession, and then they scored. How Rankin stays on for 90 minutes every game baffles me. He gives us nothing, doesn't tackle, doesn't mark anyone, and can't kick with his right foot. Brian Hamilton was a better midfielder, and that says something.
"The Hibs defenders are probably asking what was the point in passing to Rankin, as he'll just pass it back to us. They can't have any confidence in him – all he does is point, but do nothing himself. With Hogg at right back we have shipped eight goals in two games. Why change a winning back four and then start shipping goals with Hogg at right back? He plays better at centre half than at right back. To be fair to him he shouldn't be there, but it creates a gap and we offered nothing going forward. Duberry must have thought Christmas had come early.
"And where is Galbraith? He scored the winner at Celtic Park but wasn't even on the bench last night. I can't believe Colin Nish kicked the St Johnstone player, even though we'd been given the foul – that killed any chance of a comeback and they went straight up the park and scored.
"Hughes is a fine example to the players, being sent to the stand. It's his own fault if he was sent there for moaning – he put out a team that proved it was not there to play football and which had no fight to it.
"Riordan is completely wasted on the left wing – he's an out-and-out striker, who can shoot with both feet, but doesn't get the chance to do it."
