Hibs: Your Say

Dan McKenzie, Leith: "It's a great achievement to finish in fourth spot in the SPL but that, I suppose, is down to other teams being worse than us over the season. This somehow hides the facts that we have been poor since Christmas and played some shocking football in that time, but I suppose that is how teams are assessed, the final placing in the SPL. Against United we showed how good we are as a football team. We passed the cup finalists off the park on a decent surface.!

Ian Bell, Dunfermline: "Its congratulations to all the Hibs family for achieving European qualification and ending the season with a terrific victory. We started very well and had our first chance in the first five minutes of play when our season's top scorer Stokes was unlucky with a shot on the run that was saved. Stokes was the main culprit as he was played in a few times and mostly chose the wrong option but he is still our top scorer, who is a credit to himself and the team and he will be a very important player next season for the Hibees. Colin Nish took the plaudits with his brace and he will be annoyed that it wasn't back-to-back hat-tricks as he passed up two golden opportunities late in the game. At the end of the day, who cares? We won the game, played well and ended the season in fourth place and qualified for Europe, not a bad season all being told. Lessons can, and will be learned, and now, as a fan, I wish to thank the players for a successful season even though they put us through the mill sometimes. Against United the best players were Nish, for his goals and Ian Murray, who held the defence together when we seemed to creak a little. The referee, Charlie Richmond did nothing too controversial but seemed to favour everyone not in a green jersey."
