Hibs' Nish knocks back switch to China

COLIN NISH is believed to have turned down a move to China for the second time in his Easter Road career, following a bid from Tianjin Teda.

The Hibs striker is reported to have flown out to Cyprus last weekend to train with the Super League outfit, having been granted permission by the Easter Road club.

However Nish, who is one of a host of players out of contract in the summer, is expected to be back training with Colin Calderwood's side this week after deciding against the switch.

The 29-year-old hitman has previously been offered a loan deal with Chengdu Blades, the possibility of that move first being raised two years ago, but he also rejected that possibility, preferring to stay and fight for his place.

But it seems likely that the former Kilmarnock player, who signed for Hibs in January 2008, will move on and most likely during the January transfer window.

Hibs are keen to move a number of players on before the end of this month - and during the summer transfer window.

Last week they managed to cash in on Sol Bamba, who joined Leicester City in a deal that was believed to have been worth around 250,000.

Bamba, who had scored just twice since the start of the season for Hibs, netted after just one minute of his debut for the Foxes to help earn them a 2-2 draw and a replay against Manchester City in the English FA Cup Third Round at the weekend and the Ivory Coast international said: "I can't ask for any more on my debut, we got a good result and I scored.

"I was surprised. In almost five years in Scotland I never had so many chances."
