Hibs: Final Answer

Are bookies' odds of 10/3 for Hibs to win this year's Scottish Cup jusitifed?

Dougie Paterson, Leith: "There is no reason why Hibs can't make this the season to win it. Forget the history and take it one game at a time and we may surprise ourselves. Hughes has got the players believing in themselves and we have probably the most potent strike force in the SPL. This could be our year!"

Jordan Jenkins, Edinburgh: "I think the odds are pretty low but then again the bookies never give much away. I never bet on Hibs to win the Scottish Cup and that has been a wise choice as I would be a poor man after all those years. If I was offered a million pounds or to see Hibs win the Scottish Cup it would be the Scottish Cup every time. It would mean so much to so many families and that means more than money for me."

Steve McKenzie, Bellevue: "You should be getting better odds than that. Sorry if this sounds pessimistic but, as long as Rangers and Celtic are in it, we only have an outside chance like all clubs out with the gruesome twosome."

Keith Airley, Leith: "I would have been expecting better odds than that but then again who would have thought we would have had the run to the quarter-finals that we have had? You've got to start wondering whether the omens are in our favour but, having seen us throw it away so many times over the years, I'm not taking anything for granted at all."

John Stanley, Musselburgh: "We've certainly come in a fair bit from the start of the season and I don't think that's just because we're in the quarters – I think its more to do with our form to date. Hibs are raising eyebrows this season and we're playing with a confidence that I haven't seen in a Hibs team since the Sauzee era. If we keep this up, then who knows?"

Eddie Thomson, Granton: "The fact the Scottish Cup is the Holy Grail for us means that those odds should be a lot longer! No matter who we draw, how easy it should be, we somehow seem to be able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and I think 50/1 would be more reasonable. I hope I'm wrong."
