Hibs: Final Answer

Pat Stanton named his Hibs dream team last week. But who would be the first player on the team sheet in your all-time side?

Michael Ross, Muirhouse: "My first-ever hero was Joe Baker. He was a superb player and how much would one of the major clubs pay for his services in today's exaggerated marketplace? Joe had it all. He was pacy, clever with his passes and his heading ability was second to none. So Joe would be the first name in my all-time Hibs eleven."

James McDougal, Lochend: "I'm a relative youngster considering we, as a club, are 125 years old but my favourite player in my short time as a Hibs fan is Franck Sauzee. He had presence, ability by the bucketload and so much style that he seemed to float. How I wish we'd had him for more years than we did. He was a superstar and is still my favourite player of all time, so he is the first name on my team sheet."

Scott Langley, Comely Bank: "I have three players who could all claim to be the 'first name' on my team sheet, Pat Stanton himself, Franck Sauzee and George Best. If we had these three players we could fill the other eight places with anyone else and still win games."

Jas Murdock, Edinburgh: "Strange as it may seem, my first pick would be Andy Goram in goals. How many times did he produce outstanding saves? And how many goalkeepers have actually scored for us? He was a great keeper and it's just a pity that he went over to the dark side and got caught up in all the baggage that is associated with the Old Firm."

Thomas Dunlop, Ormiston: "Going by players I have seen in my lifetime (I'm only 22), I would have to say that the first name on my all-time Hibs XI would be Franck Sauzee. The man is, in my opinion, a living legend and, hopefully, we will see him back at Easter Road one day in some sort of capacity."

Campbell Scott, Craiglockhart: "I would have to have Gordon Hunter as first the pick in my dream team. You couldn't get a more committed club man and he was the man who broke the derby hoodoo. A great defender, great captain and a great Hibby."
